Vocalist / Composer / Private instructor of Voice Guitar and Piano Lessons
Joslyn Sarshad is a soprano from Boulder, Colorado who's been loving the LA/OC scene for ten years. She earned her degree in vocal performance from California State University Fullerton, and has been singing and teaching professionally since. She sings as a first soprano in Orange County's premier professional choir Pacific Chorale, as well as the new chamber group Cogitatio Chorale.
This year, she was a featured soloist in Pacific Chorale’s performance of Bach’s Mass in B Minor. Joslyn has also performed the title role in Menotti’s "Amelia al Ballo" and the role of Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s "Le Nozze di Figaro". Other solo highlights include Poulenc’s "Gloria" at the Madeleine Cathedral in Paris, France and the role of Maria von Trapp with Pacific Symphony under the direction of Carl St. Clair.
Joslyn loves to compose her own songs on guitar and piano and has been fortunate to have her performances broadcast internationally on the TV program Hour of Power. She loves helping her students discover their own creativity and self-expression through composing. One of her greatest joys in life is helping others find the music in themselves!
In 2015, Joslyn launched her private teaching studio where she teaches voice, piano, guitar and songwriting in contemporary and classical styles. She creates a unique teaching environment by incorporating yoga, nutrition awareness and Alexander Technique into all of her lessons. Joslyn knows that music has the power to change people's hearts and she's grateful to be part of her student's creative growth.
